We've all seen them, the commercials on TV for Luminess Air. You know, the airbrush make-up system that is Dermatologist recommended. Well, I must confess I was TOTALLY intimidated but this thing!

But why?? I mean the pretty pink box and shiny silver case are far from being scary. But something just kept telling me I could NOT handle it and would end up looking like Bozo the Clown. I had visions of turning the system on only to find I couldn't control the sprayer and it would over power me and I'd be sitting there with it spraying around like an out of control fire hose.

Well, I'm happy to report this is all FAR from the truth!

After a week of the box sitting on my counter, begging me to just open it and give her a chance I finally broke down. After looking over the users guide I popped in the DVD and watched the SIMPLE easy to use instructions. Yes....I said SIMPLE!

I started by deciding which shade was best for me. Though I am a Florida girl I am pretty pasty so I went with the lightest of shades. I began by getting "familiar" with the stylus and "gas pedal". You see, the "gas pedal" is the KEY to making sure your application is smooth and natural looking. I tested my skills on the closest thing in arms reach, a CLEAN diaper. ;) Pushing the "gas pedal" too far back results in pretty much all your foundation coming out in one spot and pushing it too light means you'll be sitting there forever waiting for your flawless skin. Like I said the "gas pedal" is the KEY so I took my time getting to know my new friend.

Once I was comfortable with the technique that worked best for me, I began my transformation. I put about 8 drops of the liquid in and turned her on.The stylus sprays with cooling air {duh...it's an air brush machine} and it feels AMAZING! This air also helps to dry the foundation so that you can apply another layer if needed. It only takes seconds to dry.

The process only takes a minute or two. You want to go slow and keep the stylus moving. Stopping will result in blotches. And once you are finished clean-up is even simpler. Simply add a small amount of water into the stylus and "flush" it out. EASY AS PIE!

I must say I have TERRIBLE lighting in my bathroom...no natural light at all! My face looks WAY better in person.....I mean that in a non-conceited way ;)

A few tips I'd like to share:

• Shake the foundation before putting the drops in
• Don't put too much foundation in and waste it....you can always add more!
• ALWAYS keep your hand moving when spraying
• When getting used to the "gas pedal"  and practicing, use a shade of foundation you won't be using so not to waste the one you will ;)

Some people may think that because Luminess Air isn't sold in stores it would be a pain to re-order and wait. BUT joining their Makeup Club helps with that, you get an automatic shipment every month to ensure you always have a supply available.

Some may feel it's too much of an investment. Can you really put a price on HEALTHY skin? How do you apply it your makeup now?? With your finger? A brush? A sponge? This tools are contaminated which will lead to unhealthy skin. No cross-contamination with this!!!

Some may also think they just won't use it very often to justify the price. Well, I admit at first I thought that. That I'd only use for "special occasions" but the more I used it I discovered it doesn't take any longer than (possibly less!) it does to apply my traditional foundation. Everyday use is possible!

In case you are curious, it feels VERY light on the skin and cleans off SUPER easy!!!
