Sqivvy Portable Pop Up ~ REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

Have you ever needed to change your clothes but didn't have any privacy and didn't want to chance someone seeing you in your skivvies?? Maybe at the beach? Running or biking? Camping? At a pageant or dance competition? If you have said YES then I have the product for you!

I first found Sqivvy while searching for a portable changing room. You see, I am a Vault Denim Independent Fashion Consultant {its like Tupperware but instead of a consultant bringing BORING plastic containers, a Vault Denim Consultant brings 120+ pairs of discounted designer jeans and you and your friends try on and shop!...Jewelry, make-up and cookware parties are so yesterday!}and I needed something to take to holiday shopping events so my customers could avoid trying jeans on in nasty public restrooms.

There are a TON of portable changing rooms on the market but I can say that the Sqivvy is one of the best! It is a little pricey {89.95}but I am a firm believer in YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! And the Sqivvy does NOT disappoint!

Let me first start off by saying this thing transforms into a HUGE {but not too huge 4'x4' and over 6' tall}area to provide you all the privacy you need! It also has a removable "roof} which allows you to see the sky above or allow light inside.

Some of the other features are:

Storage: there are TWO pockets inside {one that is mesh which houses my touch lights to illuminate the inside}

Window: there's an interior window so you can keep an eye on the happenings outside {you can keep this zipped shut if you would prefer not to encourage peeping Toms ;)}

Floor: there's a roll away partial floor to keep muddy/dirty feet from making a mess

Stability: for security it has stakes and a "pocket" to place a rock, sand or weight in to keep in grounded

I've used the Sqivvy at a few events. I must say it gets lots of attention! People are curious as to what it is. They comment "why didn't I think of that". And everyone that has stepped in it is SHOCKED at how much room it has inside!

I also want to point out how AMAZINGLY easy it is to take down and fold away! I had heard horror stories of others and their various brands of pop up changing rooms. Ones that entailed people laying on the floor on their back trying to get it collapsed. Or someone who stuffs it into their trunk then quickly jumps back upon opening only to have it shoot out because they can't seem to get it folded back up. Sqivvy provides folding instructions {that include photos} and they also have a video HERE in case you need more help. I got mine back in the carrying case on the first try. And am happy to report I didn't have to lay on my back or pray it didn't shoot out at me like a rocket!!

MANY people have messaged be since posting my review (here) of the Zooper Tango Double Stroller. "Did you give an honest review??" "Do you still love it after having it for some time now??" And my answer is always the same......yes, yes, YES!!!

I approached the stroller purchase like I was purchasing the first car for my teenager! Like I mentioned in the review I wanted something SAFE and COMFORTABLE....and pretty! ;) (let me clarify that I actually purchased the Tango a few months before being given one for the review so that shows just how much I really stand behind this stroller!!)

With a schedule that is packed full of therapy and doctor appointments PLUS trips to and from preschool, this stroller is taken in and out of my trunk (Honda Accord) at least twice a day....EVERYDAY! It still works just like the day I got it!!

Boba Baby Carrier REVIEW ~ MUST read!

CONFESSION:

I actually thought about giving THIS carrier away. As in the one they sent me. That was until I used it. Sorry peeps but this thing is the third arm I have been praying for since 2008!!

Okay so when you get pregnant you get all sorts of tips and advice. Nobody ever told me about a baby carrier but you better believe when I hit Babies R Us with that handheld scanner I scanned just about EVERY thing in the baby section. In the end I had added (and received) two different baby carriers. The first was one (shall remain nameless) that seemed to cut off poor Tessa's circulation to her feet. I actually looked down once and freaked when I saw purple pigs. NOT GOOD! The second was a side/hip carrier that I never could seem to figure out. I worried the entire time I wore her that she was going to slip out and hit the pavement. :( NOT GOOD!

So when I received the Boba Baby Carrier I honestly didn't have my hopes set too high. After my experience with carriers I assumed this one would just get tossed in the closet with the other two duds.

That was until I put it on for the first time. I compare the fit to what I imagine a parachute to feel like on a skydiver. Yea...it felt that secure. Then I was actually able to put babe in it alone. As in I did NOT need the help of another human to start wearing her. :)

Right then I realized this was the 3rd arm I had been searching for! Actually its more like a complete set of arms. Prayers answered!

As a mother of a toddler with mild cerebral palsy, getting around isn't as easy it could be. Tessa is not walking independently yet so we are forced to take our Zooper Tango Double Stroller EVERYWHERE! (can I please add that it also is and amazing product! used DAILY and still working like the day it arrived!) Now add the fact that I have a ~~chunky~~ healthy 9 month old to carry and this is when that set of hands comes in handy!!

Can I tell you how much I love this pic. Not sure if it's that chunky ham hock hangin' out, the fact that it looks like I'm being stalked by paparazzi or that we were at Sears Outlet looking at mattresses (did I mention I am a bargain shopper??)....

This day I somehow forgot that the Zooper was not in the back of the car and took off to our daily therapy appointment. This is also the day I became known as SuperMom!

(20lb baby in carseat...CHECK, 27 pound toddler in Boba...CHECK, diaper bag for 2....CHECK, custom walker....CHECK)

I've got some super awesome friends. Friends that like to take my picture instead of help...KIDDING! Amy has her hands full too this day as we trekked to the shore. What would I do without my Boba!!?

Picking Tessa up after her first day of PreK. Tristin has started to pull hair so mine has been "hidden" more often that I'd like these days.

I can't tell you how much I LOVE the Boba!! It seriously has become a staple in our lives and the car. I don't go anywhere without it. As a mother of two non walkers the Boba Baby Carrier is something I can't live without!

So on that day when you find yourself saying that it would be so nice if you had an extra arm....or two....do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a Boba!

Here are some pics of some of our scores....not in the pics is a great lawn chair, LOTS of summer thermoses, some tableware {an awesome serving tray} and various water guns and slip-n-slides!

Okay you are probably wondering "what in the heck is this" well...the striped "things" are table clothes scored at Target that I'll be using for my daughter's 3rd birthday in a few weeks! Instant backdrop!

Snow Cone Machine {we also got an ice cream machine!} and accessories!

I think the total for all this was around $5

The chairs are marked down to $3.84....75% off BUT the sign says 30% and the price tags reflect 30% off. This is why you should ALWAYS scan the items!!!!

The pink bedding was 75% off and perfect since I am re-doing and combining my girls' bedrooms!

As you probably know by my review of the Arrojo S125 by Izunami, I am a flat iron junky! It's my go to beauty tool.....used almost daily. Using a product that is designed especially for repeat heat styled hair is a MUST!

I've been using the ThermaFuse Color Care Shampoo & Condition for a little over a month now. It's dreamy! ;)

It smells AMAZING...not too strong which I LOVE.

ThermaFuse Color Care Shampoo & Conditioner is Sulfate FREE. What does that mean?? Does your shampoo froth up? Then it's most likely got sulfate in it. If I was ever stranded on a deserted island and had to pick only a few things to bring, my flat iron would be one. {assuming there was a place to plug it in} When my hair is done {and not in my normal mommy due ~ ponytail and baseball cap} I feel like I can conquer the world. I don't have a microwave. Correction...I don't have a WORKING microwave. We got a fancy shmancy one as a wedding gift almost 5 years ago but about a year ago it decided to retire :( And between you and me I was okay with it. You see, my itty bitty kitchen needs all the empty counter space it can get so I was fine boiling water to warm bottles or heating left overs up in the oven.

But then I came across the iWavecube. It's just what my itty bitty kitchen needed....an itty bitty microwave!

I will admit it doesn't hold as much as a "normal" microwave does but if it still does the job, takes up half the amount of counter space and all I have to do is maybe split what I am heating up in half then it's perfect for my family!!

Overall I think this is a GREAT product. It's compact and energy efficient!

White Sands ER Fusion Review and WINNERS!!!

I'm so cheap that I color {and highlight} my own hair. There....I said it! I've done this for YEARS and ALWAYS get TONS of compliments on my hair. Now, don't get me wrong, nothing compares to getting this done at a salon but I just can't justify spending 2+ hours (my hair is THICK and takes forever) and $100+ for something I can do a pretty good job doing myself.

Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel Review

I am 100% honest when it comes to my reviews. With that being said, I have found a product I will use for the rest of my life!

At 31 I still hadn't found a facial cleanser that I felt was for me. My skin is crazy....some days oily, some days seriously dry. I've tried just about every cleanser that Target carries. I've even tried cleansers sold in department stores and in spas. NOTHING has really "fit" my skin.

Until NOW! I received the Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel and was so super excited to start using it. From the moment I squirted the SMALL amount in my hands I knew this different. I'm not sure if it was the consistency {not too thick and not too thin}, or the smell {very fresh and clean} or the fact that it foamed up just as a cleanser should.

Here is what they have to say about the cleanser:
This soap free, foaming cleanser gently washes away makeup, surface oils and impurities without altering skin's natural moisture balance. Contains the anti-aging properties of Alpha and Polyhydroxy Acids (AHAs and PHAs), along with conditioners to soothe and improve skin texture. For all skin types, including sensitive skin. Non-drying and gentle to skin. Dermatologist and allergy tested.

I applied it to my face and could seriously feel my make-up and anything else that had collected on my skin during the day just melt away. And unlike a lot of cleansers it only required ONE wash to remove everything. And by everything I mean, there was no trace of ANYTHING on the white cotton ball soaked in toner that I rubbed all over my skin!

I've used it day and night and it leaves my skin feeling CLEAN and soft with no signs of dryness.

Another AWESOME thing about the Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel is that a little bit goes a long way....SERIOUSLY! The bottle is 7.2 ounces and I am pretty confident It will take me at least 8 months to use it all. What more could a bargain shopper ask for?? ;)

Luminess Tan Review and a giveaway!!!

Luminess has done it again! They managed to intimidate me AGAIN!

But I am happy to report that just like my review of the Luminess Airbrush Make-up there was NOTHING intimidating at all!

I think I was terrified I would end up looking like this:

BUT I DIDN'T!!!!

I've done other faux tanning options...Mystic Tan ALWAYS turned me orange. I can officially say it is NOT cool to look like an umpa lumpa! I've been sprayed tanned my a human {Mystic Tan is done by a "machine"} and it actually wasn't too bad BUT as it wore off I no longer looked tan but instead looked dirty, like I hadn't bathed in weeks.

The Luminess Tan has NO scent at all! Which if you've ever used the other spray tanning options you know the smell is very odd. And it seems to linger for DAYS! But the BEST part is that I did not look like a Jersey Shore cast mate!

Since I was in control of the stylus I can spray the shade for ME! I used the Deep Tan shade and applied two coats. If you want to go darker then you would just continue to add layers. The Deep Tan color is brown with NO hint of orangeness.....NONE AT ALL!

I used almost half of the bottle for my entire body. Because I don't plan on being in a bathing suit anytime soon {still have some baby weight to get rid of}I focused more on my legs, chest and arms.

As you can see I didn't go overboard. I wanted my tan to look natural. I think next time I'll go just a tad bit darker.

The machine is SUPER easy to work with. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to tan myself but found it surprisingly easy to spray my entire body. The only "issue" I had was that from spraying the harder to reach areas {my bum and back} I shook up the bottle which created some bubbles which lead to some sporadic sprays. This was totally my fault and I now know that I need to just slow down and try not to shake the solution very much when it's spraying.

My tan faded EVENLY over time and was completely gone after about 10 days. In the past I've paid $30-40 per spray tan so with a price tag of $149 {you get the system plus 2 bottles of solution} I really feel the Luminess Tan is a great DEAL!

Not only can you stay tan all year long for a FRACTION of the price you would pay for frequent spray tans BUT you won't get skin cancer!

Powermat Review & Giveaway ~ CLOSED

The Powermat is the PERFECT gift for someone who has everything....and also has a compatible device! ;)

According to their website, The Powermat Wireless Charging System provides a simple, fast and efficient way to keep all of your favorite personal electronic devices charged. Enabling your devices with Powermat Receivers allows you to Drop and Charge them on any Powermat Mat to experience wireless charging.

I was able to charge my iPhone 3 and my iPod.

To charge the iPhone it required a receiver case to be attached to the phone. The case is similar to one you would purchase to protect your phone though I didn't feel it would actually provide any shock resistance protection.

To make the Powermat Wireless Charging process as simple as possible you would leave your phone in the receiver case. I found the case for the iPhone 3 to be rather bulky. I believe that this is NOT the case with other phone models. I think their receiver cases are a little slimmer depending on your phone.

Charging the iPod was a much easier....just as easy as plugging it in with the charger that came with it. I actually used the dock for my iPod and my iPhone.

Both methods require you to place the receiver case of dock on a mat.

I did not notice that charging was any quicker than using the charger that comes with the phone. But one difference that I think is GREAT is that the Powermat has an auto shutoff feature. It can tell when your device it fully charges and then power to the device shuts off.

This not only saves energy but also helps to prevent overcharging your battery which could shorten the life of it.

All in all I really don't have a need for the Powermat Wireless Charging System. I don't think it works any better or faster than the charger that comes with the device. But I do like the idea that the charge shuts off when fully charged.

Awk2theWard Wednesday (March 23rd)

Okay so I have this toddler. She's two....terrible two! Like seriously. I had no idea someone so small could be so terrible. My days are filled with lots of whines {and not the kind you drink though that would probably make my days less terrible}, a few tantrums and never eating her lunch.

I luv her to death but at this point I'm pulling all the stops when it comes to getting her to behave. Telling her "Santa is watching" worked for about 2 days (even though it was February!). Then I moved on to the Easter Bunny.....she didn't really enjoy him last year so I included him in my scared straight tactics. I'm pretty sure she doesn't even remember who the bunny is. Now I am using "The monkey is watching and he won't be happy if you act like that". Who is "the monkey" you ask....

For Valentine's day Miss Terrible Two's daddy brough her home this cute little monkey. He has a banana magnetically attached to his mouth. When you remove the banana he goes all crazy! Like jungle monkey crazy. I admit at first I was startled too but Miss TT was straight up scared. We hid him for a few days until I brought him out again to see if she had a change of heart. NOPE but she didn't scream this time just stared and crawled away signing "All done".

So when Santa and the Easter Bunny no longer worked I started telling her The Monkey was watching.

The other day at Target Miss TT is throwing a total hissy fit in the stroller. I tried my best to ignore it but to keep the others sane around us in the clothing department I said "Miss TT, The Monkey is watching you and he won't be very happy to see you acting like this". You should have seen the looks I got. Wonder if they really think we have a money or if they thought I was the WORST. MOM. EVER.

We've all seen them, the commercials on TV for Luminess Air. You know, the airbrush make-up system that is Dermatologist recommended. Well, I must confess I was TOTALLY intimidated but this thing!

But why?? I mean the pretty pink box and shiny silver case are far from being scary. But something just kept telling me I could NOT handle it and would end up looking like Bozo the Clown. I had visions of turning the system on only to find I couldn't control the sprayer and it would over power me and I'd be sitting there with it spraying around like an out of control fire hose.

Well, I'm happy to report this is all FAR from the truth!

After a week of the box sitting on my counter, begging me to just open it and give her a chance I finally broke down. After looking over the users guide I popped in the DVD and watched the SIMPLE easy to use instructions. Yes....I said SIMPLE!

I started by deciding which shade was best for me. Though I am a Florida girl I am pretty pasty so I went with the lightest of shades. I began by getting "familiar" with the stylus and "gas pedal". You see, the "gas pedal" is the KEY to making sure your application is smooth and natural looking. I tested my skills on the closest thing in arms reach, a CLEAN diaper. ;) Pushing the "gas pedal" too far back results in pretty much all your foundation coming out in one spot and pushing it too light means you'll be sitting there forever waiting for your flawless skin. Like I said the "gas pedal" is the KEY so I took my time getting to know my new friend.

Once I was comfortable with the technique that worked best for me, I began my transformation. I put about 8 drops of the liquid in and turned her on.The stylus sprays with cooling air {duh...it's an air brush machine} and it feels AMAZING! This air also helps to dry the foundation so that you can apply another layer if needed. It only takes seconds to dry.

The process only takes a minute or two. You want to go slow and keep the stylus moving. Stopping will result in blotches. And once you are finished clean-up is even simpler. Simply add a small amount of water into the stylus and "flush" it out. EASY AS PIE!

I must say I have TERRIBLE lighting in my bathroom...no natural light at all! My face looks WAY better in person.....I mean that in a non-conceited way ;)

A few tips I'd like to share:

Shake the foundation before putting the drops in
Don't put too much foundation in and waste it....you can always add more!
ALWAYS keep your hand moving when spraying
When getting used to the "gas pedal" and practicing, use a shade of foundation you won't be using so not to waste the one you will ;)

Some people may think that because Luminess Air isn't sold in stores it would be a pain to re-order and wait. BUT joining their Makeup Club helps with that, you get an automatic shipment every month to ensure you always have a supply available.

Some may feel it's too much of an investment. Can you really put a price on HEALTHY skin? How do you apply it your makeup now?? With your finger? A brush? A sponge? This tools are contaminated which will lead to unhealthy skin. No cross-contamination with this!!!

Some may also think they just won't use it very often to justify the price. Well, I admit at first I thought that. That I'd only use for "special occasions" but the more I used it I discovered it doesn't take any longer than (possibly less!) it does to apply my traditional foundation. Everyday use is possible!

In case you are curious, it feels VERY light on the skin and cleans off SUPER easy!!!

We all could use a few laughs to get us through the rest of the week. We all have stress whether it be from our jobs, kids, spouses, pets, LIFE.

A good laugh is good medicine so here is your first dose!!

First off, I am actually part of Amy's Awk2theWard post today so feel free to take a trip over there and laugh at me......PLEASE....do it....'cause I laughed too!

My Awk2theWard moment is a tribute to the Space Shuttle Discovery's final landing today.

Good 'ol Discovery is being retired!

Since Amy put me on blast for a current Awk2theWard moment I thought I pull out one from my past....

As a Floridian you'd think the shuttle taking off and landing would be something I'd be familiar with. But nooooooooo! One evening a few years ago (as in when I was in high school) I was home alone and heard this terrible LOUD noise! I was certain someone was breaking into my house so I did what any female home alone should do in this situation, I called my uncle. Not the police....my uncle! ;)

He wasted no time and hopped in his truck and headed over. While on his way he decided to call the police and share with them my "dilemma" so they arrived just as he did. They searched the front and back yard and couldn't find a thing. No foot prints, no random strands of hair ;), no black gloves...NOTHING.

Then one of them said something that will haunt me FOREVER! "Was is just ONE loud boom?" to which I replied "YES!" to which he followed with....."You know, the Space Shuttle entered the atmosphere about that time.....ma'am I'm pretty sure what you heard was the Sonic Boom."

So there I stood.....my uncle laughing at me and two handsome men in uniform pretty much thinking I was a looney!

LAUGH....go ahead! I do, and so does ALL of my family EVERY time a shuttle is scheduled to come back to Earth!

I walked my usually "path" and here are a few things I spotted....

This Fire Screen was regularly $50 marked down to $12.48

This warming tray was regularly $30 marked to $20.98

Now, that's not marked down enough for me BUT I am keeping my eye on it! Yeah....I'm cheap like that!
